My Very First Blog

Hi, i am Edwin and i run an equity portfolio for my family. There are a total of 5 shareholders in this portfolio, my wife, sister, bro-in-law, sis-in-law, and myself. The capital that i manage is both very privileged and patient. This has enabled me to make investment calls based on very long term strategies.

The intent of setting up this blog is to document all the events that take place with respective to the equity portfolio that I manage. i used to write annual reports and send them out to update all shareholders on the portfolio's performance. however, i find this process too slow and often, many investment decisions do not have a chance to be explained in detail to everyone us. this blog will also serve as a platform for me to articulate and share investment decisions based on research that i did. This will also allow shareholders and visitors to my blog to critic and share their ideas too.

I must admit that i am not a very good writer. This blog is a good way for me to practice that and I shall try my best to write so that it will be easy for you to understand my 'theories'. This is why i love finance - it doesnt matter how good u are in talking, presenting, writing, the measure of success in in how much money u make....as long as u have the right ideas, u put your money up and the market will make the final judgement!
